Dear Faculty and Staff,
You are receiving this message because you may support or advise undergraduate students with class registration. With undergraduate pre-registration for Fall 2020 right around the corner, we wanted to update you on an ongoing project to improve the undergraduate registration process.
Undergraduate registration, specifically registration appointments, is consistently cited as a source of frustration and confusion for students, faculty, and staff. To address this, in October of 2019 the Office of the University Registrar partnered with Operational Excellence to bring together a team of campus-wide partners to collaboratively evaluate existing challenges, benchmark our registration process against peer institutions, and ideate potential solutions, the result of which is the creation of a new undergraduate registration process.
Over the past several weeks, we have shared this proposed new process with various student, faculty, and staff groups across campus to gather feedback and learn more about the communications and resources needed to successfully implement a new undergraduate registration process for Spring 2021 pre-registration that occurs in the fall of 2020.
While more information on what to expect for Spring 2021 pre-registration next fall is forthcoming, we wanted to take this opportunity to make you aware of this ongoing project and give you a heads up that things will be changing in the near future. *Please note that no changes will be made to the registration process for graduate, professional, and non-degree seeking students.
That being said, pre-registration for Fall 2020 this spring will begin on Monday, April 6th and operate as it has in the past. Visit the Office of the University Registrar for more information and to view the registration calendar. For additional questions and support, please contact us.
