BuyCarolina, a new purchasing solution that is coming to the University on August 17, will improve the University’s purchasing power as well as the end-user experience. This new cloud-based solution replaces the current ConnectCarolina eProcurement system. It will allow purchasers to comparison shop across the majority of suppliers and make smarter purchasing decisions without having to search each supplier separately.

The new software is licensed based, and we have a limited number of licenses. The vendor does not provide a solution for only viewing the catalogs, each user requires a license. As a result, you won’t have the View Only option once BuyCarolina goes live. If you currently have access to use the Inquiry options in ConnectCarolina, you’ll keep the ability to review requisitions placed by others.

If you have a need to place orders, you can work with your Access Request Coordinator to request the BuyCarolina role through the access request process.
