The curriculum for training newly-hired HR representatives got a revamp and several new faces are teaching the two-day class for new HR representatives.

To keep sensitive information safe, the University uses a security method called 2-Step Verification. With this method, you verify that “you’re you” before you see certain sensitive information. Enrolling in 2-Step takes just 10 minutes and helps keep you and UNC secure.

Have you heard that a redesigned PI Dashboard is rolling out in September? Based on feedback and requests from principal investigators across campus, the new dashboard provides a snapshot of grant funding and expenses, including salary projections at both the award level and the project level. The information on the dashboard is pulled directly from ConnectCarolina and RAMSeS

Paying for college can be daunting, and fears of tuition increases before graduation day can add to the challenge. Starting this fall, undergraduates who are NC residents qualify for the Fixed Tuition Payment bill, passed by the NC legislature in May 2016. The bill guarantees that tuition remains constant or decreases during a student’s “tuition period,” which is defined as eight consecutive academic semesters for a four-year program. Once the tuition period ends, tuition for any additional semesters reverts to the prevailing rate at the institution, plus a surcharge if applicable.

If part of your day includes entering purchase requisitions or vouchers, you’re familiar with having to enter a category code for each item you are buying or paying for. The categories help the University track spending and negotiate better pricing, but it was difficult and time-consuming to choose the correct category from a list of 55,000 choices.

A few weeks ago, over 6,000 seniors turned their tassels and officially became Carolina Alumni. Graduation evokes memories of long nights studying for final exams and grading papers, family celebrations, and of course, cueing the Pomp and Circumstance. However, the campus and central offices work months in advance to support many aspects of graduation.
