Adding Functions to Position ePARI’m on the Position ePAR and it looks like I can only enter one function, but I need to enter more. What do I do? To add another function, click on the “+” button at the top right-hand side of the page. Each function can have multiple tasks underneath it.

To add a task, use the “+” button inside the grid underneath the appropriate function.
ApproversI'm an approver and I heard there was a Position ePAR waiting for me to review, but I don't see it.The Position ePARs are separate from all other ePARs that you approve. Use the Worklist or from the ePAR home page be sure to click on the *NEW* Evaluate a Position ePAR link.

Campus Security Authority (CSA)What is this Clery Act section all about? Please watch the Campus Security Authority (CSA) online training. See microlearning video
Campus Security Authority (CSA)I’m on the Position ePAR and I'm unsure whether the position has Campus Security Authority responsibilities. How can I make that determination? Please watch the CSA training video on the FPM website. What is the Campus Security Authority?
If you still have questions, contact jennscott@unc.edu.

Campus Security Authority
Campus Security Authority (CSA)I heard that anyone who regularly interacts with students, such as Faculty, would always be considered CSA. Is that true? No, that is not true. The criteria to be considered a Campus Security Authority is more complicated than simply being a Faculty member, and there are various factors to be considered. Please watch the training video on the FPM website What is the Campus Security Authority? (CSA)
If you still have questions, contact jennscott@unc.edu.
Data Conversion IssueI have an active employee in my organization without a position because I didn’t extend their expected end date before the data conversion. What do I do? 1. Run the Vacant Position Report for your organization to find the positions that were created during data conversion. Your HR Officer should have also received a report at go-live containing the mapping between positions and employees who need to be addressed.

2. Review the position information to make sure everything is accurate. If not, start a "New Position ePAR" to update the information.

3. After the Position ePAR fully executes:

"Edit Existing Job ePAR" to extend the expected end date

4. After the "Edit Existing Job ePAR" fully executes:

"Hire ePAR" to move the employee into the position

All employees processed by payroll who are not in positions will go to suspense and in addition to the steps above, you will also need to complete a PAAT to adjust the distribution.
ePARs disappearedI had ePARs in progress before go-live, where did they go? It was communicated via various channels that all in-flight ePARs that were not fully executed as of 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 would be denied. Very sorry that you did not receive that message. You need to start your ePAR over again.
Faculty Position I’m on the Position ePAR and I want to copy an existing Faculty position, but I can’t find any in the drop-down. Search for Job Codes that start with “6” and you’ll find Faculty Positions.

Step 1: Click the magnifying glass icon.
Step 2: Enter Job Code 6 and then click the Look Up button.
Faculty Position DescriptionI am entering/updating a position for Faculty and I don’t know what to put in the Position Description fields.Guidelines are posted on the APO website here:

Faculty Position NumberHow do I find Faculty position numbers in the drop-down?Click on the magnifying glass and then enter "6" in the job code search field. After you click "search" the related positions will show.
Find Position NumberI’m on the Position ePAR and I know the person who it should report to, but not the Position #. How do I find it? You can look up the position of an employee from the Position ePAR.

Step 1: Click the magnifying glass icon.
Step 2: You’ll see many fields to use in your search including Empl ID (PID) and Last Name. Enter the info about the Supervisor that you know and then click the Look Up button.
Note: If the employee has multiple active jobs, you’ll need to be careful to pick the right one. There is likely a different Position # on each Job Data record.
Fund SwapMy Fund Swap got recycled but I don’t know why. Check to make sure there is a position on it. If there is, ask the approver who recycled it why they sent it back.
See Fund Swaps microlearning video.

PeopleAdmin DataThe data I see in PeopleAdmin is wrong, but I can’t update it. What do I do? This information is now feeding from the Position in ConnectCarolina. Please review the related training video and if you still have questions please log a Service Request in Service Now.
FPM Recuiting Impacts
PeopleAdmin position and recruitmentI have a recruitment in progress in PeopleAdmin without a position. Do I need to anything right now?No, you should finish the recruitment without a position. When you are ready to start the hire, you will need to create the position first and include all of the information from your posting. After the position ePAR fully executes, then you will be able to hire the candidate into that position.
Position Budget AmountI’m creating a position and I have no idea what the budget amount should be. Position Budget Amount is not required at this time, so it is fine to leave it blank unless you are directed otherwise by your School/Division.
Position Description TemplateWhere can I find the new SHRA and EHRA NF Position Description Template? The Position Description Template may be found here under the Career Banding Forms section.
Position Description Template.
Position ePARI started a Position ePAR, but now I can’t find it. To Update or View a Position ePARs, you need to use the new links on the ePAR home page. "*NEW* Resubmit Change or
Withdraw a Position ePAR"
and
"*New* View a Position ePAR".
Position NumberHow do I find an employee's position number? You'll see this information throughout the system, but the fastest way to see a single employee's position number is to go to the UNC Employee Information page on the HR WorkCenter.
Position NumberHow do I find a Position number after an ePAR executes?See microlearning video
Position NumberI created a new Position and the ePAR executed, but I can’t find the Position Number. How do I know the position number that was created? Navigate to the "*NEW* View a Position ePAR," find your ePAR # and then you’ll see the Position # on that page. It’ll only populate after the ePAR has fully executed, though, so if it’s still pending any approvals then you will not be able to see the number.
Recruiting SystemI’m on the Position ePAR and I’m not sure what to do with this new “Recruiting System” field. 99% of the time you should leave this field alone. It controls whether or not the position should feed to PeopleAdmin. Please watch the training video on the FPM website and if you still have questions please log a Service Request in Service Now. Check for Position Recruiting Flag
Reports ToHow do I find the "reports to" for an employee? You'll see this information throughout the system, but the fastest way to see who an employee reports to is to go to the UNC Employee Information page under the Person Data section of the HR WorkCenter.
Reports ToI’m hiring someone and it still shows ‘Supervisor ID’ as required.  I thought everything was supposed to be ‘Reports To’ now?If you are still seeing ‘Supervisor ID’ then the ‘Reports To’ field on the position must be blank. Start a new Position ePAR to update the Reports To.
Once the Position ePAR fully executes then you can continue with the Hire.
Reports ToThe ‘Reports To’ is wrong on someone’s record. Please submit a "New Position ePAR" to update "Reports To" information.

If you don’t know the Position Number of the supervisor, you can find it on the UNC Employee Information page on the HR WorkCenter. Finding the Reports To Position Number
Save button on Position ePARI was on the Position ePAR and I clicked SAVE then I got kicked out of the form. What do I do? The SAVE button is actually “SAVE AND EXIT” (unfortunately, we have no control over the wording on the button).

You can get back to your Position ePAR by using the "*NEW* Resubmit, Change, or Withdraw a Position ePAR" link on the ePAR home page.
Secondary positionI’m creating a new position for a secondary job, where do I indicate that? You don’t. There is no concept of secondary positions only secondary jobs once the employee is hired/transferred into the position.
