Approval path for all campus ConnectCarolina Finance roles

Stop 1: Finance functional lead determines access roles needed, verifies the needed form, and supporting documentation is attached and complete.
Stop 2: ConnectCarolina Training Team verifies that the required training is complete.
Stop 3: ConnectCarolina Security Team sets up access in ConnectCarolina.

Budget TransfersAllows the user to enter, modify, and search for budget transfers. It also allows the user to delete budget transfers that have not been posted and resubmit budget transfers for approval after they’ve been denied.Managing Budgets and Creating Budget Journals instructor-led class
Budget JournalsAllows users to enter, modify, and search for budget journals.  It also allows the user to delete budget journals that haven’t been posted and resubmit budget journals for approval after they’ve been denied. Managing Budgets and Creating Budget Journals instructor-led class
BuyCarolinaAllows the user to place orders from the BuyCarolina marketplace. Also allows the user to view the status of the requisitions these orders are placed with and to make changes to those requisitions. Making a Purchase in BuyCarolina self-paced online learning is available.
Campus Vouchers Allows users to create campus vouchers for reimbursements for employees and University affiliates, independent contractor payments, cash advances, and petty cash replenishments. It also allows the user to use the Voucher Inquiry option to search for and display voucher information.Creating Campus Vouchers instructor-led class
Creating and Changing SuppliersAllows users to request new suppliers and independent contractors, and request changes to existing suppliers and independent contractors.Requesting Suppliers and Independent Contractors instructor-led class
Inquiry RolesGives users access to the accounts payable, purchase order, budgets, and eProcurement inquiry options.Training is not required (Running a Project Budget Overview Inquiry self-paced online learning is available)
Journal EntriesAllows users to create campus journals, correcting campus journals, correcting JE, correcting voucher JE, and interunit campus journals. It also allows the user to edit campus journals that haven’t been posted and delete campus journals.Creating Journal Entries instructor-led class
Managing AssetsAllows users to enter an asset’s  location, including searching for and viewing an asset, updating information, and reporting movement and status.Managing Assets for Campus Departments self-paced online learning
Purchase Reqs and ReceivingAllows the user to create a purchase requisition and make changes to them before they are submitted. It allows the user to view the status of, cancel, print, and make copies of requisitions.  It also allows the user to create a change order.  This role also allows the user to record receipts, make changes to receipts, handle returns, and close receipts short.Creating Purchase Requisitions and Receiving instructor-led class
Source CreateAllows the user to request new fund sources or request changes to fund sources.  This job function is also included in the Journal Entries role (so no need to request both).Training is not required ( Requesting New Chartfield Values self-paced online learning is available)
University DepositsAllows the user to process incoming payments at the department or school level, using direct journal deposits. Also allows the user to update a deposit and view deposits.Making University Deposits instructor-led class
Enhanced Reporting Access for FinanceLIMITED ACCESS Allows campus users to run queries in the RPT Reporting environment. MCU leads determine
who needs to have enhanced reporting access. Staff members with this access can see information beyond their own department, so this
group is kept small to keep information secure. Requires approval from the MCU lead (proxy signatures are not accepted).
Training is not required.
Journal Import Access LIMITED ACCESS Allows user to import journals via flat file or Spreadsheet. This access requires approval of Accounting Services.Training is not required.
