You can opt out of receiving a paper W-2 form and instead download an electronic copy from the ConnectCarolina Self-Service menu when the 2020 W-2s are released. More than 13,200 University employees have opted out of printed W-2s, and you still have time to opt out for this tax year. If you consented to receive electronic forms once, you don’t have to do it again, and you also have the option to go back to a paper form. Consider it an opportunity to “go green,” and more, save the cost of postage for the University to mail your W-2s this year.

From the Self Service home page in ConnectCarolina, click the My Pay and Taxes tile, and then W-2/W2c Consent. Follow the instructions on the screen to stop receiving a printed W-2.

Paper W-2s

If you prefer a paper copy of your W-2, keep in mind that, because many of us are working remotely, you won’t find your W-2 in your campus mailbox or get it from your supervisor. Your home address is where the University sends your printed tax forms and benefits correspondence. Please take a minute to double-check your home address in ConnectCarolina and update it if needed. To do that, log in to ConnectCarolina and go to the Self Service home page. From there, click the Personal Information tile, and then the Addresses option on the left side of the Personal Information screen.
