Be on the lookout later this month for two new tiles on your Self Service home page. The HR eForms tile will appear for all active employees and the HR Approvals tile will appear for all active employees plus affiliates and contingent workers just in case they need to be part of an approval chain. Going forward, these tiles will be the home for some HR forms that are changing from paper to electronic versions. Moving the submission and approval process for HR forms online will save time, simplify the approval process and help managers, supervisors and central office staff stay on-top-of any approval actions that require their attention. At first the only HR eForm you’ll see is the Telework Request Form, but we’re working with other groups on campus to identify HR forms that are good candidates to move to an online process. Teleworking is not a new concept at the University, but it’s one that is getting more attention as we navigate the work and life changes brought on by COVID-19. Email Communication Send Date: April 12, 2021 From: ConnectCarolina Communications To: HR Approvers Subject: HR ePAR approval browser issue You are receiving this email because you approve HR ePARs using the Worklist in the ConnectCarolina Admin WorkCenter It has come to our attention that having a browser version open more than once or having multiple tabs of the same browser open at one time results in ePAR approval problems. In some cases, approvers have been able to approve the same ePAR multiple times, which can result in an action executing more than once or cause the ePAR to stop in workflow. To avoid potential problems: Open one ePAR at a time to review for approval (per browser). Once approved, close the browser tab and select another ePAR from the worklist or, if you are unable to approve the ePAR for any reason, simply close the browser tab and move to another ePAR from the Worklist. If you need to have multiple ePARs open at the same time, open different browsers and work one ePAR at a time from each browser Worklist. Remember that 2-Step Verification is required to access your Form W-2. Instructions for 2-Step Verification are below. Since calendar year 2015, the University has offered online W-2 distribution as a convenience to you in addition to the paper Form W-2s we produce and distribute each January. Since then, employees had the option of accessing and printing an electronic W-2 form but could not avoid receiving a paper version. Now, employees can choose to opt out of receiving paper W-2 forms as part of an effort to provide a more secure and sustainable distribution process. Hello, We have an important update about ePro requisitions as we prepare to make the switch to BuyCarolina. As of 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, any ePro requisitions in ConnectCarolina that are not fully approved and with valid budget status will be canceled. If you have a requisition that is canceled and you still need it, you’ll need to recreate it in BuyCarolina. You can use the Manage Requisitions page to find the details of any canceled requisition by setting the Request state filter to “Canceled.” As a reminder, there will be an ePro outage beginning Thursday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. and lasting through Monday, August 17 at 8:00 a.m., after which BuyCarolina will be live and available for use.
